The following are the components of the Data Model created by ISO TC68/SC4/WG11, otherwise known as ISO 19312. This is NOT the final version, but there are only minor modifications between the components here and the final version. This page is being updated pretty regularly right now, as the model works its way into the 20022 repository.

Overview

ISO documents for the 19312 Data Model define The Scope as addressing "set up, pricing and corporate action data.".

The descriptive terminology employed in the current 19312 model is:

    • For each of Setup, Pricing, and Corporate Action, there are three sections:
      • BusinessComponents "lists all business components, its elements and definitions" -- no further specificity regarding the definition of components, elements, definitions, etc. is provided or assumed;
      • BusinessComponentDataType "contains additional information used to determine the datatype (format) of a business element";
      • The DataType list for each "contains all the values that a code list can have", i.e., enumerated lists.

Definitions

Roles and Actors as defined in the model. (There is not a specific methodology employed for delineating between Actors and Roles, or defining precisely the relationships. A bit imprecise from a specialist's standpoint, but better than you could reasonably expect given the job to be done.)

"The Roles spreadsheet lists all actors involved in the lifecycle of a security." - from the 19312 Model.

There are three dimensions (Business Components, Business Component Data Type, and Data Type) defined for each of the data sets (Setup, Pricing, and Corporate Actions) required to assemble and populate the model.
